Chioma Isabella Ajana, a law student at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), has tragically passed away after reportedly being denied access to her diabetes medication due to a missing hostel room key.
Sources say Chioma, who was diabetic, lost her room key and urgently needed her insulin.
However, the hostel management allegedly demanded a payment of ₦120,000 before granting access via a spare key.
The delay in obtaining her essential medication is said to have caused severe complications that ultimately led to her death.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage on social media, with many Nigerians demanding justice and a full investigation.
As one commenter put it, “So many things happen in this country… it would’ve cost them nothing to let her get her drugs. ₦120k for a spare key? That’s outrageous.”
