A tragic incident occurred earlier today in Iseyin, near Customs, beside First Bank, where a bus reportedly crushed a female student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).
According to eyewitnesses, the victim, a 200-level student, was on her way to refill her gas cylinder when the accident happened.
It was gathered that she had just arrived in Iseyin few days ago to resume her studies at the LAUTECH Iseyin campus. Sadly, she died instantly at the scene of the accident.
In the aftermath of the incident, enraged students reportedly set fire to the bus involved in the accident and blocked the Customs road in protest, causing a major traffic disruption.
Security operatives, including police officers, later arrived at the scene to restore calm and bring the situation under control.
As of the time of this report, authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
