Students of LAUTECH continued their protest against the relocation of Anatomy and Physiology to the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences, demanding that the university management reverse the decision.
Remember that Eclat Media had earlier reported that on February 11, the university issued a memo approving the relocation of Anatomy and Physiology students, previously under the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, to the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences. This decision triggered the students’ protests, with immediate calls for the reversal of the relocation.
Tensions escalated during the demonstration when a security officer reportedly injured a student while attempting to close the main gate. The student was immediately transported to the university’s health centre for treatment.
In response, the Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, Prof. Kalilu Olatunde, visited the protest site to address the students. He assured them that the university management would hold a meeting to discuss the issue and urged the students to reopen the gate and remain calm while the matter is being resolved.
