The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has announced the suspension of academic activities at its Iseyin Campus following the tragic death of a 200-level student of the Department of Agricultural Economics.
According to an official statement signed by Mrs. Olayinka O. Balogun on behalf of the University Management, the deceased student was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in Iseyin. The unfortunate incident has plunged the university community into mourning. The student is reported to be. Fresher who just resumed 200L in the campus.
“In light of this grievous loss, and in recognition of the emotional toll it has taken on our students and staff, the University Management has approved a two-week suspension of academic activities at the Iseyin Campus, effective immediately,” the statement read.
As a result, all students in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources have been directed to proceed on a two-week break. Academic activities are expected to resume on Monday, November 24, 2025.
