Medical students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) have expressed deep frustration over the prolonged suspension of their academic activities due to the ongoing medical students’ strike.
In an emotional statement shared across social media platforms, the students lamented the uncertainty surrounding their education and called for urgent intervention from the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to help resolve the crisis.
“How long must we wait? How long must we pause our dreams?” the statement began.
“Medical students are exhausted, not just from books, but from the silence that greets our cries. We are not asking for luxury. We are asking for a future.”
The students emphasized that their academic progress has been at a standstill, and their dreams of becoming medical professionals are being delayed indefinitely.
“We are tired. We want to resume. Let this strike end, let our lives move forward,” they added, urging the state government to intervene swiftly.
They appealed to Governor Makinde to use his good office to facilitate dialogue between all relevant stakeholders and ensure the prompt resolution of the issues grounding medical education in LAUTECH.
“We believe in Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership and his commitment to education and youth development,” the students said.

As the strike persists, LAUTECH’s future doctors continue to echo one resounding message — a plea for action, compassion, and the chance to return to the classrooms and hospitals where their dreams began.
