LAUTECH Grieves the Untimely Passing of 300-Level Student, Akande Philip.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Akande Phillip, a 300-level Computer Engineering student at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH).

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at approximately 5:30 pm.According to eyewitnesses, Philip had gone to play football at a field near his hostel, located close to Adenike Bakery.

After playing three sets and scoring a goal, he leaned against a wall to wait for another set.

Suddenly, he slumped and lost consciousness.Notably, Philip had no prior health issues or crises before the incident.

Despite being rushed to Obafemi Hospital, Philip was declared brought in dead.

He was later transferred to the LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead and taken to the morgue.

Philip’s burial took place in Ibadan earlier today. The university community is in shock and mourning the loss of this young and promising student.
