Nigerian social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) has released details of a private 40-minute conversation with 18-year-old Mirabel over her earlier rape allegation.According to VDM, Mirabel later admitted that the rape did not happen.
She explained that on the night in question, she had taken a mixture of codeine, alcohol, and a soft drink. After passing out, she said she woke up and saw blood, which led her to believe she had been assaulted.
During their conversation, Mirabel reportedly became emotional and asked VDM for help, saying she had no one to support her. She also opened up about struggling with panic attacks, insomnia, depression, and self-harm.
Mirabel further admitted that the TikTok account “Priston186,” which was earlier linked to the alleged suspect, actually belongs to her. However, she denied adding promotional details like “DM for Ads” or owning an Instagram page connected to the issue.VDM stated that the incident may have been a hallucination caused by substance use and lack of sleep. He added that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police had earlier identified inconsistencies in the case.
The incident reportedly began in Ikorodu. For safety reasons, Mirabel later moved to Mowe Ibafo, where she posted her initial claims, which quickly went viral. VDM has promised to support her and urged the public to show compassion, describing her as a young girl who needs mental health support.
He also confirmed that she has not broken any law and will not face prosecution.
