The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the official opening of its student loan application portal for the 2025/2026 academic session, offering financial assistance to students in tertiary institutions nationwide.
According to a statement released on Tuesday by NELFUND’s Director of Strategic Communications, Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the application period will run from Thursday, October 23, 2025, to Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The agency advised newly admitted students to use their Admission Number or JAMB Registration Number in place of a matriculation number when applying.
NELFUND also appealed to tertiary institutions to exercise patience and flexibility with registration and fee payment deadlines for students awaiting loan disbursement.It further urged schools that are yet to begin their 2025/2026 academic session to formally inform NELFUND of their approved academic calendar for scheduling purposes.
The agency emphasized that no student should be denied access to education due to financial challenges.
