ECLAT MEDIA Reports, Mubaraq Olanrewaju Famakin, popularly known as Dopeman, has emerged as the newly elected President of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Students’ Union Government (SUG) following the institution’s student union elections held today.
Students of the university turned out to participate in the electoral process, voting to elect representatives who will oversee the affairs of the student body.
According to the official results released by the Electoral Committee and signed by the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Dr. Adepoju A. J., Famakin secured 5,920 votes to defeat Muhammad Babatunde Ayanwale of the Department of Anatomy, who polled 5,353 votes. Famakin is a student of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
In the race for Vice President I, Ayomide Esther Lawalson emerged victorious with 5,754 votes, defeating Rebecca Oluwaseun Matthew, who secured 5,356 votes.
For the office of Vice President II, Sobur Opeyemi Ajibola won with 5,956 votes, ahead of Boluwatife Bamidele Ajekiigbe, who received 5,173 votes.
Other candidates declared elected include:
●General Secretary: Mahfuz Abiodun Asafa – 5,693 votes
●Assistant General Secretary: Timileyin Okikijesu Omotosho – 5,777 vote
●Financial Secretary: Jesutosin Oluwaseyi Isola – 5,916 votes
●Welfare Director: Abdulrahamon Afolabi Adesokan – 5,915 votes
●Sports Director: Abdulsemiu Ayomide Mikail – 6,074 votes
●Social Director: Faruq Adeyemi Semiu – 5,808 votes
●Public Relations Officer (PRO):Nasirudeen Olamilekan Oyetoro – 5,820 votes
The announcement of the results officially concludes the 2026 LAUTECH SUG elections, ushering in a new administration expected to champion the interests and welfare of students across the institution.
