President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Jos, the Plateau State capital, days after the brutal killings of over 27 people by unknown gunmen.
Tinubu arrived at the Yakubu Gowon Airport at exactly 17:00 hours and was received by the Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Defence Christopher Musa, Senator Jonah Jang, Senator Simon Lalong and other stakeholders.
Other dignitaries present included Senator Nora Ladi Daduut, the newly appointed Nigerian Ambassador to South Korea, and former Governor Joshua Dariye.Several security chiefs, including the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu were also at the airport to receive the President.Tinubu is expected to engage with leaders of various communities in the state as part of efforts to find a lasting solution to attacks in the state.
