Tension has gripped Jos following a deadly attack that reportedly claimed the lives of over 10 Christian worshippers on Sunday.
According to early reports, the victims were allegedly targeted by suspected Fulani bandits during Palm Sunday observances—a significant day in the Christian calendar marking the beginning of Holy Week.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the attackers stormed the area unexpectedly, causing panic and forcing many residents to flee for safety. Several others were said to have sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention at nearby health facilities.
Security agencies have yet to release an official statement, but local authorities are reportedly working to restore calm and track down those responsible. Community leaders have condemned the attack, describing it as tragic and deeply disturbing, especially given its timing during a sacred religious observance.
This incident adds to ongoing concerns about insecurity in parts of Plateau State, where clashes and attacks have persisted in recent times.
Residents are calling on the government to take urgent and decisive action to protect lives and prevent further violence.
More details are expected as the situation develops.
