What if a simple sanitary pad could unlock a girl’s confidence, dignity, and future? That powerful question formed the heartbeat of the Pad a Girl Child Outreach, a school-based initiative by VeeCare in collaboration with the Eclatify Foundation.
On January 28, 2026, the initiative successfully carried out its first outreach of the year, reaching girls in two secondary schools in Ogbomosho— LAUTECH International College and Comforter Heritage School.
During the outreach, free sanitary packs were distributed to students, reinforcing a clear message: no girl should miss school or feel ashamed because of her natural biological needs.In addition to the distribution of sanitary pads, the students were enlightened on menstrual hygiene management.
The team provided detailed education on the proper usage of sanitary pads, including a practical demonstration on how to use them correctly. The girls were also taught why sanitary pads are hygienic, their health benefits, and the importance of using clean and safe menstrual products to prevent infections and promote overall well-being.
The outreach was designed not only to provide menstrual hygiene materials but also to restore dignity, boost self-confidence, and ensure uninterrupted education for adolescent girls. By addressing menstrual health openly, the initiative seeks to break the silence, myths, and stigma that often force girls out of classrooms during their menstrual periods.
Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, the organizers emphasized that menstrual health is not a privilege, but a fundamental right.
